What Inspires You?

What Inspires You?

How long would it take you to write down 10 things that inspire you? Go ahead, grab a piece of paper (or 10 post it notes) and try it.

What came to mind first? You may have on your list inspirational people in your life or from history, or maybe specific pieces of art, movies or music? Or perhaps your answers were more abstract in nature or experience-oriented (such as that time you dragged yourself out of a cozy bed for a sunrise hike or a festival that you recently attended).

No matter how easy this short exercise was for you or how much you got down on paper, inspiration helps us achieve our goals (a recent study proved people who were generally more inspired in their daily lives also tended to set inspired goals, which were then more likely to be successfully attained) and increases our well being. Inspiration is part of that human element that connects us but the differences in what we’re inspired by and how we act on that inspiration also separates us into the unique, complex personalities that we are today.

How would your life be different if you were hardly ever inspired? What things have inspired you towards one route instead of another? Finding your inspiration and exploring what inspires you and what you’re passionate about takes time, and for most of us that time is valuable and competes with other obligations such as work, school, families, friends, and more. But finding what inspires you is something that no one else can do for you, because no one else on the planet understands you better than yourself.

If you’re ready to take some time just for yourself (and we know you deserve it), let us help you explore what inspires you. This next series of blog posts focuses on how inspiration impacts our lives for the better and how knowing your MBTI personality type can help better understand what inspires you and put that inspiration into action.

Because you’re someone you should get to know better.
